Whether you have insurance or not, Physical Therapists are committed to high-quality, personalized care. An insurance contract is between you and the insurance company. Unfortunately, it is not the responsibility of the insurance company to do what is in your best interest. Their responsibility is to manage money and follow through with your policy guidelines. For this reason, some physical therapists decided to be an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans so they can better customize your treatments and establish goals to meet your specific needs. This ensures that they can keep their rates down, provide the best quality of care for you, and decrease the number of visits you need for the best outcome.

Please use the worksheet below to guide you through calling your insurance to learn your out-of-network benefits. The vast majority of patients will receive some form of reimbursement from their health insurance provider. The out-of-network PT will assist you with providing an itemized receipt to submit to your insurance company reimbursement.

If you would like to use your insurance, find a provider below, call and see if they are in-network. If they are, they will check your PT benefits and give you an estimate for your out of pocket responsibility based on your insurance contract.

How To Get Started

The state now allows Texans to seek Physical Therapy without a referral for 2 weeks.

After this time, a referral or signed plan is required.

PT’s will work with you and your provider to obtain this.
